The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Development (OVPRED) through the Extension Management Office (EMO) signed a memorandum of understanding with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and 23 barangays around PUP for the implementation of Abot Kasanayan at Dunong Project - a Salin Kaalaman, Tungo sa Kaunlaran Project.
Dr. Joseph Mercado, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development gave his opening remarks followed by an inspirational message from Executive Vice President and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Herminia Manimtim. The event ended with the closing remarks of Assistant to the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development and EMO Director Dr. Racidon P. Bernarte.
Salin Kaalaman Tungo sa Kaunlaran Project helps the residences of the barangays near PUP by giving free access to trainings and workshops conducted by the different colleges and departments of the campus. This year, OVPRED through the EMO provided extension service programs to its target beneficiaries as it is dedicated to extend its expertise to the community by implementing the several projects.
In one of their projects titled Abot Kasanayan at Dunong Project, PUP will be giving free training and workshops. Additionally, they will provide free review seminars.
Abot Kasanayan at Dunong Project will start on July 19, 2017 with kick-off topic on Food and Beverages.
More than 14 Barangay Officials, Representatives and beneficiaries were present in the said ceremony held on July 12, 2017 at the Bulwagang Bonifacio, NALLRC.
