PUP Santa Maria, Bulacan Campus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Coast Guard — Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) last January 24. The signing ceremony signals the start of the official partnership between the two public institutions aimed at collaboration and enhancement of “coastguardians’ competence, capability and character as they go on with their careers in the DOTr- PCG Service.”
Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development, represented the University during the formal signing, while CG Commander Eustacio Nimrod P. Enriquez, Jr. represented CGETDC. The event was held at the Headquarters of the CGETDC OWLditorium, Muelle dela Industria, Farola Compound, Binondo, Manila.
In an official Facebook post, CGETDC describes the partnership as “mutually beneficial relationship between the PCG, through the CGETDC as the primary education and training command of the PCG, and the PUPSMB, a recognized provider of higher occupational, technical, and professional instruction and training in the applied arts and sciences.”
The University is actively reaching out to networks both in the public and private sectors to further enhance the learning and extension opportunities for its varied stakeholders.
