The RICL Logo is a reinterpretation of Sarimanok, a mythical creature from the Maranao folk culture in Southern Philippines. The Sarimanok showcases the ingenuity and creativity of early precolonial Filipinos. Like the Sarimanok, which is always present in Mindanaon art heritage, the Institute shall endeavor to be ubiquitous in all academic scholarship and explorations in the areas of humanities and philosophy, Philippine studies, translation, creative writing, and language and literature studies.
The letters R, I, C, and L are traceable in the logo. The colors used are those which are associated with the colors of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
