The Center for Labor and Industrial Relations Studies (CLIR) commits to perform its role in the shared vision of transforming PUP into an epistemic community. The center will serve as center of initiatives on research, linkages, networking, trainings, support services and policy advocacies towards contributing to the development of a sustainable and self-reliant economy through a productive and socially aware workforce.

The Center for Environmental Studies (CES) under the Institute for Social Sciences and Development is the lead unit that undertakes research and studies on the integrity of the environment, environmental justice, ecological protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation. One of its mandates is to raise people’s awareness and consciousness of global warming, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and ecological protection for sustainable development.
The Center raises people’s awareness and consciousness on ecological protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation through conferences, symposia, forum, lectures and other venues for dialogue and consultation.

The Center for Peace, Social Justice, and Human Rights Studies (formerly the Center for Human Rights Studies) under the Research Institute for Human and Social Development primarily has two main functions: produce research and organize research capability building activities.
The Center’s research focuses on economic, political, social, cultural, and historical underpinnings of social justice that reflect on issues concerning human rights, conflict, and peace studies. The activities conducted are those that are socially relevant, produces knowledge that involves those that are most affected, bridges theory and practice and connects these with pedagogy to inform, challenge, and encourage students and faculty to engage in studies on peace, social justice, and human rights.

The PUP Center for Public Administration and Governance Studies (CPAGS) aims to succeed in its crucial role of being at the forefront of research, extension and development initiatives that seek to unite efforts to mitigate poverty which is glaringly manifested in different states of extreme human deprivation.
The PUP CPAG is committed to contribute to alleviating poverty through its advocacy of promoting good governance. It intends to be directly involved in the continuing dialogue for better delivery of government services that will benefit the underprivileged. Its institutional competencies will be utilized to contribute in good public management and effect societal transformation.

By producing and deploying knowledge on development and poverty, the Center for Poverty Alleviation and Community Development Studies provides a space for theoretical reflection that is backed-up by scientific research and with a firm commitment to an advocacy for the establishment of a development based on social justice. This means that the center will work with practitioners in the field such as NGOs, community organizations and social movements in the production and deployment of knowledge on development and poverty. The center will work at the local, national, and global levels by linking with partner organizations such as local and national government units and international organizations that have to do with poverty and development.
