Mission

The OVPRED shall institutionalize research and extension as major undertakings of the University. 

Functions

The OVPRED shall:

•  Provide leadership in strategic planning in research and extension;
  
• Assist the University in the generation of resources needed to support its research and extension thrusts;
  
• Coordinate short-term and medium-term research and extension program planning and implementation with the College Deans and Campus Directors;
  
• Establish strong linkages with other agencies to promote the research and extension programs of the University; and
  
• Plan and implement a human resource development program for research and extension.
