Services

The OSS effectively and efficiently serves the PUP Students through the following:

1. Establishes holistic student development
   • Endorses and sends student’s participants to various training, assemblies, seminar-workshop, conferences, competitions, outreach programs and other activities locally and internationally.
   • Serves as resource person (OSS Officials and Personnel), facilitator, and panelist in various university activities.
   • Provides remedial program through the PUP Scholars Society (KATAGA).
   • Provides venue towards the improvement of students’ capabilities and potentials such as formation of Debate teams, Speakers team, Creative Writing team, Quiz wizards and the like.
   • Provides venues for student organizations and for student activities.
2. Develops among students as exemplar of moral values
   • Provide venues for student participation in various activities such as joint activity with NSTP-CWTS, various religious group, colleges, administrative offices and student organizations.
   • Harness sense of volunteerism; involve students in the universities’ major activities such as PUP College Entrance Test, Foundation Day, Commencement exercises and the like.
3. Instills among sectors the need of proper observance on the provisions stipulated in the student handbook.
   • Provides students and other sector of the community a copy of PUP Student Handbook
   • Conducts massive information dissemination and orientation on the content of Student Handbook by means of posting, freshmen orientation and publishing in university and students publications.
   • Information dissemination through branch hopping.
4. Ensures effective and efficient Line Offices
   • Monitors the performance of all line offices. Ensure that basic services have been delivered to students and other clientele.
   • Conduct Staff Development Program
   • Supports all undertakings and improvement programs.
5. Provide quality and excellence services to our client
   • Simplify all processes by providing forms to be filled-out, releasing of procedures for step-by-step process of requests.
   • Offers technical advises and services to Student Council, Student Campus Publication, Student Leaders and Student Organizations:
     • Co-signed the checks releases by the Student Councils and the Catalyst
     • Proper liquidation of cash advances
     • Planning and implementation of activities
     • Preparation of request for equipment, fixtures, supplies and materials
     • Monitoring in the holding of student council election
     • Signed fund raising requests
   • Immediate processing of students’ application for duplicate copy, replacement and request for new ID as well as students’ application for duplicate copy of lost registration certificates.
   • Immediate approval and endorsement of students’ requests such as:
     • Request for overnight stay
     • Request for visitors entrance in connection with student’s activity
     • Request for permission to conduct activities inside the campus such as assemblies, conferences, concerts, cultural presentations, etc.
   • Issues certifications to the following:
     • Students who are participating in outside competition (sports, academic, cultural, etc.)
     • Former students who are enrolling for a higher education in other schools and those who are seeking or applying for scholarship
     • Students who are seeking for promotion in their job
     • Students who has money claims
     • Students for being an officer of their respective organizations
     • Students seeking scholarship grants from different foundations
     • Students applying for on-the-job training outside campus
   • Furnishes documents to departments and colleges that is undergoing accreditation of their respective programs
   • Endorses / gives immediate action in all communications coming from outside agencies
   • Interviews and gives orientation to the freshmen applicants for entrance scholarship. Assists these entrance scholars in enrollment on their preferred courses.
6. Institute campus harmony and camaraderie
   • Acts immediately and accordingly to all cases filed before the OSS. Be sure that due process has been properly observed.
   • Institute regular communications, consultations and dialogue
   • Assist the Student Disciplinary Board (SDB) and provide venues for mediation and conciliation of cases, problems and conflicts.
   • Provide proper guidance and counseling concerning organizational matters, university norms/sanctions, etc.
