The College of Science offers eight undergraduate programs:
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics program is a four-year degree program designed to provide students a solid foundation in mathematical and statistical theories involved in the formulation, analysis, and use of mathematical models with the aid of the current state-of-the-art technologies.
The program equips students with mathematical thinking skills through abstraction, pattern recognition, problem solving, and argumentation, as tools to become globally competitive professionals.
The program prepares the students for actual work in emerging fields such as actuarial mathematics and finance, operations research or management science, data analytics, data science and statistics and even in education as well as motivate them for advanced academic and research pursuits.
The degree Bachelor of Science in Biology (BS Biology), a curricular program offered by the Department of Biology, is designed to provide students holistic cultural and environmental experiences ensuring quality transmission of the fundamental concepts, principles, and theories of the biological, natural and physical sciences; and enabling development of global leaders of integrity within the science community with specialized skills responsive to the needs of society and industry.
The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program aims to equip the students with the skills necessary in making them scientifically and technically competent for the profession. This program offers strong foundation on major disciplines in Chemistry and streamlines in enhancing technical skills in modern instrumentation applied to chemical analysis, and hands on and computer-assisted laboratory works that shall qualify the students to take the professional licensure examination for the practice of Chemistry. Furthermore, the program also prepares students for pursuing higher degree programs in the national and international community. With the integration of core disciplines and values embraced by the University, the program shall develop students to be accountable professionals who demonstrate critical and innovative standpoints, who can present their ideas to create impact in various work settings such as the industry, academe, research, and business.
The Bachelor of Science in Food Technology (BSFT) is a four-year designed to equip students with the updated scientific knowledge and practical skills in the field of food science. The program is pivoted to the role of food technologists as agents of innovation of ideas, products, and processes implementing the fundamental principles of food science. The program prepares students to be globally-competitive, ethical leaders who effectively communicate and respond to the needs and continuous improvement of the local and international food industry.
The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program is a four-year degree program designed to provide students a solid foundation in the major areas of mathematics such as algebra, analysis, and geometry with the aid of the current state-of-the-art technologies.
The program also prepares students for higher studies or careers in the academe, statistics, actuarial science, operations research, risk management, business and economics, banking and finance, information technology, and other allied fields.
The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) is a four-year program that develops students to be globally competitive, resourceful, independent, and resilient professionals possessing relevant 21st century skills in the different areas of nutrition including, but not limited to, public health, hospital, and foodservice. The program also offers experiential learning opportunities in a variety of settings in order to prepare future nutrition and dietetics practitioners to become leaders and researchers in this fast-paced and constantly changing field of nutrition and dietetics while maintaining high standards of ethical and social responsibility.
The program leading to the degree of BS Physics shall provide the students with a comprehensive and rigorous training in physics as a foundation for careers in pure and applied physics or interdisciplinary sciences. It will prepare the students for a wide range of career opportunities in private and government research and service institutes, academic units, media, industry, and graduate studies.
The Bachelor of Science in Statistics aims to enhance students’ critical thinking skills both in statistical theory and statistical methods to become professional, ethical, and globally competitive experts in statistics proficient in the use of technologies and demonstrating flexibility in complex environment. It aspires to develop service-oriented and globally responsive statistics graduates who can demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills in various industries and government institutions. Likewise, it develops the students who are passionate in uplifting society by introducing further improvement through lifelong learning.
