Note: Libraries are closed during Sundays and Holidays. Library service stops fifteen (15) minutes before the regular closing time to enable the staff members to check records and the collections in preparation for the next day’s routine. Changes in library hours are posted in advance at the entrance of the NALLRC.
Supervised by the Head of the unit, it is responsible in the selection and acquisition, cataloging and classification, organization and management of library resources such as books, serials, multimedia materials, and online databases received whether through purchase, gifts or donation or through exchange programs. Its functions are distributed into its four sections, namely: Selection and Acquisitions, Gifts and Exchange, Cataloguing and Classification and Mechanical & Bindery Sections.
Directly under the supervision of the Director, this unit is responsible in the intra and inter office communications.
Supervised by the Head of the unit, the Readers' Services is a part of the library services that directly brings out research and information to library users. This department exists primarily to meet the research and information needs of the PUP academe. It operates within the framework of guidelines followed efficiently by the Readers’ Services staff to carry out the objectives, rules, regulations, and policies of the department effectively. The sections under this department are the following: Reference, Serials, Filipiniana, and Circulation.
Supervised by Head of the unit, the Satellite Libraries cater to the library needs of the different campuses in Manila. The NALLRC has six satellite libraries such as the following:
GRADUATE SCHOOL LIBRARYThe Graduate School Library is located on the second floor of the Graduate School building of the M. H. del Pilar Campus in R. Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections consist primarily of books with comprehensive value for advanced studies, theses, dissertations and other professional books and publications intended for graduate school curricula.
COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION LIBRARYThis satellite library is on the second floor of the College of Communication Building, also at the NDC Compound, PUP, Anonas St., Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections include mostly books and other library materials related to the curricular offerings of the college.
COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE LIBRARYThe CEA Library is housed on the fourth floor of the College of Engineering and College of Architecture and Fine Arts Building at the NDC Compound, PUP, Anonas St., Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections consist mostly of engineering and architecture books and periodicals for the use of engineering, architecture and fine arts students.
COLLEGE OF LAW LIBRARYThe College of Law Library is housed on the ground floor of the Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center Building, Mabini Campus, Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections consist mostly of law books and journals for the use of law students.
COLLEGE OF TOURISM, HOSPITALITY AND TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT LIBRARYThe CTHTM Library is located on the second floor of the PUP Hasmin Hostel Building at M. H. del Pilar Campus, R. Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections consist of books and other library materials to support the curricular needs of students taking up courses on Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Nutrition and Dietetics and Food Technology.
INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY LIBRARYThe ITech Library is located at the third floor of the Institute of Technology Building, NDC Campus, Pureza Street, Sta. Mesa, Manila. Its collections consist of books and other library materials to support the curricular needs of students with the following programs:
LABORATORY HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARYOperating on an open-shelf system, the Laboratory High School Library is housed at the Laboratory High School Building Mabini Campus, PUP, Sta. Mesa, Manila. The collection is intended for high school students.
Supervised by the Head of the unit, the Special Services provides the archival, museum and special collections needs of library clientele. Under this unit are the following: Archives and Museum, Presidents Hall and PUP Memorabilia, Rare Book Collections, Theses and Dissertations, Disability and Gender and Development (GAD) corners.
Under the supervision of the Office of the Director, the Multimedia Service provides the PUP community with audio-visual facilities to meet their media instructions and other related activities. Venues are available to cater to various activities of PUP such as conferences, conventions, convocations, meetings, assemblies, fora, social and cultural presentations, seminars, orientation and other instruction-related services like film showing, video production and documentation, and others.
All users are accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis. Outside users can also avail the use of the facilities and equipment by arrangement, reservation, and payment of corresponding fee. The Multimedia Facilities Services has the following venues: PUP-CLFI, Inc., Silid Lakan-dayang/Pulungan, Multimedia Center, and Film Viewing Room.

The books in the library are arranged on the shelves according to the Library of Congress Classification System. This is a system where the fields of knowledge are identified by letters, which are used in assigning the class number of library materials. The letters are combined with Arabic number, other letters and author notation, which complete the call number of a book. The outline is presented below:
The Koha Open Source System is the system that the library utilizes for its library management holdings. It is designed for better access to its collections and for an improved and faster delivery of services. The system allows on-line inquiry regarding NALLRC resources. There are desktops designated for OPAC use found at the Left and Right Wings of the third floor of the NALLRC Building. The satellite libraries have their own stand-alone computer for their own access.
Online database of e-books and e-journals by Gale Virtual Library and Academic OneFile as provider is one of the latest Information technology tools that the NALLRC has acquired. Links to online resources such as the www.aacoa.net, www.gutenberg.org, www.free-management-ebooks.tradepub.com are also accessible at the PUP CLFI E-Learning Resource Center located at the 3rd Floor Left Wing of the NALLRC Building for academic use only. Publications or any part of these resources may not be copied, forwarded, or transferred to another person or entity. Reproduction or translation of any part of these works without permission of the copyrighted holder is against the law.
The NALLRC also acquires multimedia resources, which are in various titles for the research needs of the clientele that support its mission, vision, goals and objectives of. The following multimedia resources are audio cassettes, beta tapes, Compact disks, compact disks-read only memory, floppy disks, slides, VHS tapes.
