The University Library Sta. Mesa has one main library and 28 college and campus libraries. Its mission is to support the university’s academic teaching, research, and service goals by providing access to quality resources and creating a vibrant learning environment that inspires and engages the university community, enhancing student learning and success to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
The PUP University Library shared a space with the Philippine Normal School in 1933. It was in 1947 when the Philippine Congress appropriated PhP 120,000.00 for constructing the Philippine School of Commerce library and social hall. It was in 1978 that the Philippine College of Commerce was converted into a university and consequently named the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The library was renamed the Department of Library and Related Services.
On July 7, 2023, the PUP University Library Organizational Structure was approved at its 181st Board of Regents (BOR) Meeting including the naming of the Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resources Center to the University Library. Committed to providing the best services and observing the best practices in the entire PUP system, the University Library and its unit libraries shall have the following main functions:
