The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) approved the accreditation of three University Journals namely, Mabini Review, PUP Journal of Science and Technology and Social Science and Development Review. These journals are produced by the institutes under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development.
Per CHED Resolution No. 146-2015, the Commission granted PUP’s three journals Category B Accreditation. A journal accredited as Category B means it has been evaluated as “acceptable to good” according to CHED Memorandum Order No. 5 series of 2012. Also, publication in Category B journals is credited as “national level publication.” Thus, faculty researchers in the University whose works are published in these journals may avail of the publication financial support/incentive given by PUP as provided in the revised PUP R&D Manual.
Meanwhile, the three journals are set to apply for reaccreditation to Category A before the end of the year. Other journals published by the University will also be submitted for accreditation to CHED.
