Critically-acclaimed writer Ricky Lee, through the PUP- Center of Creative Writing and Department of Filipinology, conducted a Professorial Lecture Series titled "Pagbangga sa Kahon" with the theme “Masterclass ni Ricky Lee tungkol sa Pagsulat ng Kwento", at the ICTC Lab, NALLRC on November 22, 2018.
Lee spoke about the "box" where people and literary writers were contained, “Lahat tayo ay nakakahon…
Lee emphasized the importance of the box and how it is imperative for one's growth as an individual and storyteller, “Your deficiencies and weaknesses are the root and backbone of your strengths. As a writer, you have to accomplish two things. One, help cure the blindness of others, including yourself. And two, reveal the false practices and show the truth."
The seminar focused on ways of writing, mostly on identifying fears, identities, and intended to break a writer's initial fears.
Lee was also the Second Apolinario Mabini Achievement Awardee of the University’s Mabini Media Awards.
