PUP Open University System (PUP-OUS) through the Institute of Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) successfully held the National Training on Office Management and Administration Skills titled ‘Challenges Accepted with Great Skills’ on August 2 to 3, 2018 at the PUP Bulwagang Bonifacio in the Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resource Center, PUP Sta. Mesa.
The first talk of the training was headed by the PUP Graduate School’s Associate Dean Dr. Dennis O. Dumrique who discussed about Problem Solving and Decision-Making. The training discussion is followed by Prof. Avelina Bucao, member of CHED Technical Committee in Office Administration and National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) in Office Administration, who tackled about Handling and Resolving Conflicts.
Prof. Michelle B. Sotto, Assistant Principal in PUP Senior High School who specializes in office management and methods of teaching in office systems, led the second day of the national training with the talk about several topics on Managing Office Information, Time Management and Understanding File Records. The participants had the chance to play a part on different activities, both written and physical, to further comprehend the importance of acquiring administration skills.
Among the participants who joined the training were from the Central Mindanao University, Bukidnon State University, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff, Partido State University, Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, Public Private Partnership of the Philippines, Philippine Commission of Women. Other participants were from the different PUP offices: Office of the President-PUP, Security Office, Alumni Relations, Quality Assurance and College of Science.
